“一定要掃蕩群雄”?

討厭劉備, 討厭他打著皇叔旗號招搖撞騙; 討厭孫權, 討厭他身為忠臣之後據地稱霸. “群雄”? Are you kidding me? 私下煮酒說甚麼是一回事, 誓師的speech不是賈詡就是荀彧寫的吧.

傳說美國人不懂看文戲. 不知他們有沒有聽過一套電視劇叫The West Wing, 集集talk and walk做足七季. 問題是編劇懂不懂得寫, 而且字字斟酌. (學下CJ!)

出師有名. 如果曹操說中文, 很簡單, 他一定會叫他們做: ”賊”. 正如之前朝廷稱呼黃巾; 正如共產黨國民黨稱呼對方.

“We are going to hunt the heroes,” 曹操說, 直譯的話… 真是的.

孫權劉備應該叫曹操做traitor; 曹操會叫他們做, um, terrorists.

The real victims of the strike

“I think that you would have to say that the strike was a qualified success, if for no other reason that they kept solidarity among the show runners and the rank and file,” said Jonathan Handel, an entertainment lawyer.  Why?

1.  One studio executive interviewed Monday (who, like every studio executive, declined to be identified while saying anything negative about the people he will be dealing with everyday) said that the writer’s short-term pain wasn’t necessary, that they could have had a deal without the acrimonious strike.
2. The negotiating committee for the writers is proud that they were able to establish a percentage payment on the distributor’s gross, but that win will be largely symbolic unless there is a fundamental change in the economics of digital distribution.

We the viewers are the real victims!  Here is your deal, ok?  Please get started work on new episodes of Heroes!! 

A deal for the writers

The NY Times reported that a tentative deal is made in writers’ strike, and a mass meeting is held today.  So, the winter could end on monday.  The deal is:

In the third year of the Writers Guild deal, writers will be paid a [two] percentage of the distributor’s revenue rather than the flat fee for Web-streamed television shows granted to the directors.

The writers had insisted on this issue to ensure they not lose out on any new-media windfall the studios and networks may get from Web video.

At this moment, a writer can be paid tens of thousands of dollars per episode by a TV rerun and DVD published.  But it is expected to disappear when the web streams them.  That’s why they need this agreement to protect.

“It’ll be nuclear winter if we don’t ratify this,” said Terry George, a negotiating committee member, in response to one query. 

Yes, please deliver us more Heroes.

Eli Stone: a better judgement needed

Just watched the 1st espisode of Eli Stone:

i have to admit that i’m not a fan of George.

Watched it due to the editorial of NY Times (Eli Stone’s Overleap of Faith, 2 Feb 2008)

Unfortunately, on his first try, Mr. Stone — even with Mr. Michael singing backup and the spiritual insights attributed to an inoperable brain aneurysm — chose the wrong cause to champion and sent the wrong message to parents about the safety of vaccines.

It’d be fine if it is a one shot film.  But after the 1st, i still ain’t sure where is it going to.  faith?  or more lawyering?  ”[L]et’s hope that,” the editorial said, “in future episodes, Eli Stone and ABC show better judgment in picking causes. “  i’d not hold my breath.
